Call for dates Basic Nitrox (EANx) OVERVIEW: This course provides the diver with the information necessary to utilize EANx as a breathing medium. QUALIFICATIONS OF GRADUATES: Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to utilize EANx (up to EAN 40%) in open water diving activities without the direct supervision, provided the diving activities and the area dived approximate those of training. PREREQUISITES FOR ENTERING THE COURSE: REQUIRED READING
Technical Diving 1. Intro to Tech Diving (NTEC) and Technical EAN Minimum Requirements: 50 logged dives with 10 on Nitrox (Nitrox certified) Cost: $450 plus cost of dives and equipment Intro to Tech Diving course is to provide the diver with a fundamental understanding of the basic principals, skills and equipment (NTEC) required in technical diving. Tech EAN course provides the EANx certified diver with the skills and knowledge needed to minimize the risks of utilizing optimal breathing gas EANx mixtures of 28% through 100% (oxygen) for dives to a maximum training depth of 130 fsw (40 msw) not requiring mandatory decompression. (This course may be combined with the Decompression Techniques Diver.) Note: 100% oxygen is used for decompression and 28% to 50% EANx is used for bottom mix in shallow water applications 2. Decompression Techniques and Helitrox Minimum Requirements: 75 logged dives and NAUI TechEAN certified Cost: $550 ($250 if taken with TechEAN course) This course is to provide the diver with a working knowledge of the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. As a part of the course students will plan and conduct a standard stage decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 130 fsw (40 msw). This course is an extension of the Technical EAN Diver Course and is highly recommended for anyone planning to dive deeper than 100 fsw. The Helitrox course is to provide the training and experience necessary to gain the knowledge and understanding of the hazards of utilizing Helium for dives to maximum depth of 150 fsw (46 msw) that may require stage decompression, utilizing EANx mixtures and/or oxygen during decompression 3.
