July 22, 2011 - Dive Report: This past weekend was great diving. The Beach 8th street divers were saying they had great visibility. 20+ ft or more on Saturday and Sunday was 25+ ft. The Dive boat did not have such a bad time either. With the weather holding up and calm sea's. Divers on the Jeanne II brought up Lobster and also had great visiblility about 25+ ft on Sat. and Sun. dives. The Garloo also was reporting same thing.

March 31, 2011 - DIVERS REPORT: Good diving this weekend. On the Jeanne II, they dove the Stolt Dagali & Lizzie D. Most divers I spoke with say's the visibility was anywhere from 15' to 25' on the Stolt Dagali & on the Lizzie D it was around 15' or less. On the Long Island Oceans, divers dove the Oregon and the San Diego. Both had good visibility around 15'.

Based on customer feedback, DUI is pleased to introduce a new pocket for DUI drysuits - the Cargo Pocket. This pocket includes the popular features requested by technical divers including two inside pockets, two bungee cords for attaching accessories and a large Velcro flap with a small zipper pocket. Grommets are used at the bottom of the pocket and under the flap for drainage. Cargo pockets can be installed on a new DUI drysuit, on an existing DUI through our service department and purchased separately as an uninstalled pocket.

February 12, 2011 - Scuba Inventor passes away - Christian Lambertsen of Newtown Square Pa. The scientist and doctor who invented an underwater breathing system used by the military in World War II - an who later coined the "SCUBA" acronym by which such systems are widely known has died at the age of 93 on Feb 11.

January 12, 2011 - ATTENTION DUI TLS350 OWNERS

September 2009 through November 2009, DUI manufactured TLS350 drysuits with material in which there were inconsistencies within the butyl rubber layer. These inconsistencies may create areas that allow water to penetrate the fabric.

These inconsistencies were not detectable using our standard test procedure in which the suit is turned inside out, submerged and inflated to .8 psi.

We have recently developed a new test procedure in which these areas can be detected.

To see if your suit was built during this time and may have been affected, please enter your serial number below (a link will be provided). The serial number can be found on the warning label inside the suit and at the bottom of the waterproof zipper as shown:

The Express fin works on the same principle as the popular Slingshot and Hotshot fins. The function of the Slingshot power bands has been converted into the Express “Armadillo”. 10-24-10 - Brooklyn Commercial Divers believe they've uncovered what the Navy missed more than 50 years ago during a frantic search that made national headlines: roughly 1,500 live shells that went overboard into the Narrows and Gresend Bay. The Post joined the four-person crew last week searching for artifacts in the murky waters off the former Fort Lafayette -- an island near Bay Ridge destroyed in 1960 to pave the way for the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. For those of you who keep asking about how the Apek Flight regulators & Hot Shot Fins worked. I got to tell you, we had the Apek Flight regulators down over 200 feet and they breathed great. We were surprise on how easy they breathed. The Hot Shot fins also work great even while wearing double tanks in Micronesia were there is little to no current. While wearing double tanks in the Philippines with extremly strong current it was a little difficult to keep up with everyone.

It first appeared in the July issue of Sport Diver Magazine and its news has spread quickly. 5-27-10 - Cressi-Sub announced a recall of defective regulators manufactured in Italy. Partial obstruction of the high- pressure port can produce an inaccurate reading on the pressure gauge, resulting in a slow descent of the needle in the pressure gauge, which poses a drowning hazard to divers.
